Scholarship Information

Scholarship awards are made for one year only and are distributed by June 1 of each year. Selection of scholarship recipients is done by a selection committee designated by the NHLF Board of Trustees. Major or program focus must be concentrated in the hotel, hospitality, or tourism industry degree, diploma or certificate. Note: Scholarship funding is provided to the educational entity on behalf of the student applicant being granted the award.

Applications will be reviewed in May with selected grant recipients being notified by June 1. Recipients will be required to participate in the NHLF established mentor program to ensure goals and objectives are met for all parties.

Along with the application, the following information and documents are required:

  • Driver's License or I.D. Card including current photo
  • Resume
  • Essay: may be in written format or a 3-5 minute video with link submitted
  • Reference Letter
  • Academic transcripts, if applicable

Acknowledgement

Academic and Enrichment scholarship applications must be completed in full to be reviewed and considered. Applications will be automatically rejected if not completed as required. Applications will be reviewed in May with selected grant recipients being notified by June 1.

Application submissions will be accepted online from March 1 through May 1, 2024.  The submission process will close at 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2024.
