We are pleased to introduce our fundraising committee co-chair, Megan Archambeault. Megan joined the NHLF team in late 2019 and brings an array of experience, creativity and energy to the foundation.
Megan is a 20-year hospitality veteran beginning her career in 2001. After graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in Hotel Administration, Megan went on to hold numerous Sales Management positions with some of the top hospitality and entertainment companies in the country including MGM Resorts International, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and The Light Group. Currently, Megan holds the title of Vice President of Sales at MGM Grand, The Signature at MGM Grand, and New York New York. In her current role she is responsible for setting sales strategy and direction for the Convention Sales, Convention Services, and Catering teams.
We visited with Megan recently and had a chance to learn more about her vision and direction for the foundation.
Q. Megan, you are a co-chair for the fundraising committee. One might say this is the most important area of any non-profit. What drove you to accept this important leadership role and what is your vision for this entity?
A: This industry has given me a lot. Professionally, it’s provided me a career where I love coming to work every day and personally, it’s given me lifelong friendships and relationships that I’m grateful for. NHLF has a mission to provide an opportunity for education to our community members that want to pursue a career in hospitality. When NHLF approached my colleague Ernest Stovall and I about co-chairing, we happily accepted as we are eager to help others join this dynamic industry. Our vision for this year is to drive awareness to NHLF and set the fundraising foundation on which we plan to build upon in years to come.
Q. What are some of the fundraising activities and opportunities in place for the remainder of this year?
A. We are solidifying several different ways to donate and get involved. For companies wanting to donate, we offer several sponsorship opportunities listed on our website as well as attached to many of our events. For individuals, we have a Dedicated Donors Club currently in the works where individuals can make a one-time donation or a monthly ongoing donation to help with the fundraising funds. Our events committee will be setting up several different events through the year as well, but our main event will be the Great Chef Run 5K taking place on October 9, 2021. We plan on making this our annual anchor event to raise money and awareness for the foundation and I personally am looking forward to participating!
Q. How does the foundation benefit our industry?
A: In addition to providing mentorship opportunities, education, and hospitality networking, we also will be providing several scholarships each year to Nevadans that are looking to pursue a career in hospitality.
